You do not need ACSLS in your case! This is standard sharing of a (FC)SCSI
library made using OS devices. To make you more confident - it was already
implemented for one of our customers without ACSLS.
The purpose of ACSLS is slightly different - sharing between
*applications* (or within an application which does not support internal
sharing). Usually STK silos are already in use by a mainframe and TSM
comes as a second app. Therefore ACSLS is needed in such cases. Or look at
Guillaume'spost few days ago - TSM, Netbackup and Omniback cannot
coordinate library access themselves and need ACSLS as middle layer.
And if for some reason ACSLS is implemented - Gresham's EDT DistribuTape
will be needed for LAN-free.

Hi, I was doing a search on Web support site but couldn't find any info
about the softwares required for library sharing between TSM servers
and/or LAN-free backups (using Fiber switches, not SANergy) using
StorageTek libraries, STK L700 (UNIX/NT/2000 only) especially. I remember
I found something before (tivoli web site), but may be I am confused with
Gresham and mainframe.
Do I need ACSLS or some other software ?
