Further to this Email, I can now confirm that you MUST install TSM for Mail
V5.1.5 in addition to TDP for Exchange V1.1 before you can see your TDP V1.1
backups on a V5.1.6.3 Windows NT TSM Server.
I can't speak for other configurations, but I hope this helps others with
strange setup's for BCP.

I did install the V5.1.5 seperately, as suggested, on my Primary exchange
server.
I am currently trying to restore to my DR server. It only has V1.1 on it...
I suspect that it also needs the V5.1.5 software overlaying to provide a
patched version of V1.1 that can see the data.
My Primary exchange server can now see the "missing" data.. I was misled by
a weird network problem!!!
When I have installed V5.1.5 plus V1.1 on the DR box I will let you Know
what the result is.

I have recently upgraded from "TDP for Exchange V1.1" to "TSM for Mail
V5.1.5". The NT TSM Server was also upgraded from V4.1.1.6 to V5.1.6.3 at
around the same time.
I can no longer see any Exchange backups from pre-upgrade. Even using the
V1.1 interface.
With a restore request to meet, I am losing the will to live.
I would prefer to not have to build a V4.1.1.6 TSM server just to restore
old backups.
Can anyone tell me if this restore is stil possible?? It worked fine before
the upgrade.
I have read the documentation and searched ADSM, but can find anything
specific to my problem.

"TDP for Exchange Version 2 uses backup object and file space
naming conventions that are different from those used by TDP for
Exchange Version 1. As a result, TDP for Exchange Version 2 is
completely incompatible with TDP for Exchange Version 1. You
cannot query or restore backup objects created by one version with
the other version."
On the same page, it also mentions that the two versions of TDP for Exchange
can coexist on the same Exchange server.
