Use the "commadelimited" format (makes processing even easier!):
dsmadmc -id=admin -pass=pass -commadelimited q actlog begindate=now-1
msgno=1341

Subject: format output
Is there a way to format the output of a dsmadmc command so that it doesn't
wrap the text? like when I do a:
dsmadmc -id=admin -pass=pass q actlog begindate=now-1 msgno=1341
i get output similiar to this:
05/12/03 20:33:07 ANR1341I Scratch volume 020071 has been deleted
from
storage pool 3494_OFFSITE_POOL.
The output wraps after the word "from". Why does it do this and is it
possible to change it so that I can use my unix tools (grep/awk/sed) a
little easier without having to code around this return.
