Well, it would certainly help to give a more definitive answer if we knew
your exact TSM client version and the exact text of the messages coming
out. But failure to back up a file should not be the cause of a backup to
show as "Failed". Rather, it should show as "Complete" with return code 4
(QUERY EVENT with FORMAT=DETAILED). That is, barring any higher-severity
problems that would cause the event to show as "Failed".
