del,
i'm all right with that what you are writing about, but i'm not sure if it's
not going to destroy my production environment. the problem i can see during
directory restore is that it maps users from domain to exchange mailboxes.
so it can map another not valid mailbox for the same domain user. i hope
i've presented it in clear way.
another problem is that ibm didn't write it in restore procedures, why?

Sebastian,

It sounds like you will need to restore the
directory database as well. DP for Exchange is restoring
the entire IS database. The IS database contains the
mailbox and public folder data. The Directory
contains all of the user data. If the DS/IS
consistency checker isn't recreating the
user's that you need due to the makeup of the
Information Store contents, it seems that you
will need to restore the directory to get
that information.

Thanks,

Del
