I'm pretty sure that RESTORE DB isn't intended to be used as an upgrade
tool, and thus isn't guaranteed to work in this scenario.

You need to restore the database using the 4.2 server code, then do the
server version upgrade.

I am trying to do a dsmserv restore db, and I am getting funky error
messages. I am suspecting that this has to do with the fact that the
server this database came from was at 4.2.1.9, and I am trying to restore
it to a 5.1.6.2 one.

Is there any way I can upgrade the db and restore it? Or do I have to
create a down-level server to restore the db and then upgrade that server
version and do a dbb and then restore that db?
