Hi,

You can define a Schedule with the duration you need. Set the schedmode in
de client option file to polling and install the Schedule service. The
schedule service will start, even if there is no network connectivity to the
TSM server. If there is network connectivity to the TSM server, the client
will retrieve the schedule from the TSM server and will schedule its
back-up. Because its polling mode the exact time the back-up start cannot be
predicted.

An other way is define a script to check if the network is available and if
so start "dsmc i".

Or, if your user don'n mind, just put a cmd in his Startup folder saying
"dsmc i", even if the network is unavailable.

We use the first option on a couple of laptops running Win2K and TSM
5.1.x.x.

Gr,

Karel

Just install the scheduler service using the system (=default) or local
account. You only need a valid TSM user and password and a network
connection. No domain validation takes place.
