Hello,

we do something like this.
You can set up an alert on your database, so that when your log reaches certain
threshhold it'll kick of a sql server job. I don't know much about TSM, but
probably the job can call cmd file which can start a backup.

Hi,

Is there a way with TDP SQL for triggering backups to TSM?
I.e. if the log becomes filled for 80 % trigger a backup of the log file
with truncate log option.
It would be nice if you could create a backup device in SQL server for the
backups to TSM and let the DBA do backups as usual but to the TSM device
instead of the device he was used to.
I haven't found anything in the doc's about this (or I have looked in all
the wrong places ;-)

Thanks
Adrie

Environment:
MS SQL 7, SP4
TSM 4.2.2.6 windows NT 4 SP 6a
TDP SQL 2.2
