Hello everyone!

I know I had asked this before, but I won't be using TDP for Oracle, so I
thought I would just try to get some thoughts on this issue that I am
trying to solve for some clients. We have several large Oracle DB that
backup to TSM. They are continously archiving logs to the TSM server.
They send each of these certain logs twice so that they have 2 good copies
onsite/offsite. They had been sending them several days apart so that they
would definately get on 2 different tapes (just in case we had a bad tape)
and the onsite tape pool is also collocated.

My solution would be to create a new disk, onsite & offsite tape pool for
these logs and they could send 1 copy to this area and the 2nd copy to the
original place that they are going now.

Does this make sense or is there a better way of managing this data?

I am going to soon be going to 5.1.6.2 on the TSM server and I know you can
send data to several tape pools at the same time, but they also want both
copies on different tapes so that is another issue as well.

Any suggestions?

Thank you!
