We are running an STK L80 without any problems on TSM Version 4, Release 2,
Level 1.9.
Also on AIX 4.3.3ML10

It manages the input/output station just as like any other Tape library.
Checkin/checkout works fine.
The only thing I encountered is that I had to define the library on AIX
manually
using mkdev.

# lsdev -Cc library
lb0 Available 30-60-00-6,0 Tivoli Storage Manager Library

Furthermore we used the TSM tape device drivers instead of Atape.
Have to fix that in time...

If you connect your STK to the network, you get a basic (view only)
interface of the STK-L80. And yes, an I/O cap sized 5 is a bit small,
especially for DR. Luckily, the customer running on it has little
storage and just 3 storage-pools, so my DR set is daily 4 LTO tapes.
So I have space for one occasional incremental DBB without calling
the tape-guys....

Create a script that does the reply for you. We issue a move DRMEDIA
scheduled
by TSM and kick off a reply script using cron that does the reply for us.
