Yes, but you have to be at 4.1.4 and higher I believe.  It may be higher
than that.  It is called the system object for Windows 2000 clients and
contains a lot more than just the registry.  It contains dlls and many other
files considered part of the system object.  The biggest issue right now is
the whole system object gets saved each time and amounts to as much as 2GB
on servers like SQL or Exchange servers.  You want to use a special
management class for the system object and limit it to probably a couple of
weeks.

Hello,

I am responsible for the administrative side of TSM and I am not very
familiar with the client side.  Does anyone know the answer to the following
question?

Can you tell me if TSM gets the System State on Windows 2000 Servers. The
system state is comprised of the following:
COMM+ Class Registration Database
Registry
System Files.

We would need the system state if we needed to restore a server or repair a
damaged server. If it does can you tell me how to identify the system state
in the TSM backups.
