You *could* use AIX's tcopy to duplicate a tape, but I wouldn't
recommend it, and wouldn't do it for a customer. If you've lost your
data, you've lost it; duplicating the tape won't haul it back.

I realize that this is probably a case of closing the barn door after
the horse has gotten out, but your situation is why the concept of
offsite tape pools was created.
