Hi list,

First, a happy new your to you all!

Just before christmas we changed our setup a bit to facilitate backup of a
Domino server running on AS/400, utilizing BRMS and the TSM API as the
backup client. We have verified that BRMS can contact the TSM server, and
also verified that backup runs as scheduled.

On the TSM server we introduced a seperate policy domain and a seperate
disk pool for the AS/400 data. The size of the diskpool is 270GB, and the
data backed up from the AS/400 server each day is approximately 80GB.

All ran smoothly for the first couple of days, but since enabling caching
of migrated files, we started to get loads of these errors in our activity
log:

ANR0534W Transaction failed for session 12451 for node
AS4DOM01 (OS400) - size estimate exceeded and server is
unable to obtain additional space in storage pool AS400POOL.

It is my understanding that caching will keep data in the diskpool even
after files are migrated to tape, but that when space in the diskpool is
needed for new data, some of the old data is removed.

The server is ver. 4.2.2.12
I believe the TSM API installed on the AS/400 is the latest version
currently available, but I can't remember for sure (and I'm not sure how to
check).

Can anyone help shed some light over this matter?

Kind regards,

Christian
