TDP can backup open database files. In a 24x7 environment, TDP is essential. If 
you have quiet periods where you can do a dynamic backup (and this is 
appropriate), or an export and backup, then you don't need it.

Can somebody explain me why use TDP for R/3 to backup
SAP DB2 database while you can backup DB2
offline/online directly to TSM?
What are the binifits?
