TSM v5.1.5 is not available for OS/400 but for PASE environment. Thus you
have to follow standard cross-platform method using export/import. Restore
of ADSM/TSM database is supported only on the *same* platform and *same*
version. Even if it is possible to restore it somehow the result is
unpredictable and is valuable only for test environment. I will not play
with this in production - too many data to be exposed on risk.

Hello,

we want to install a second instance of tsm on one AS/400 server.

The first instance is adsm 3.1.2.105, the second will be tsm 5.1.5.

It is planned, that the second instance will replace the first, when we
are
sure, that everything is working well.

So every client (data) has to move to the new instance.

Is it possible to backup the adsm 3.1 database and restore it to the tsm
5.1.5 instance ?

Or is export/import functionality of tsm the better solution?
