You have to look at the documentation for the particular model
of rs6000 (or pSeries) you have for location codes to physical
location relationship. In general though, some should be able
to be determined by looking at "rear" of the machine. There
are generally labels or on some models stamped into the metal
part of the location code.
Probably you will see a "11" or "21" or "1/1" or "2/1" for instance.

Below is output of an "lsdev" command in AIX. Anyone have any good
documentation or can someone sum up for me how to physically locate
these
disks/adapters physically in the system by these location codes in
this
output. Can anyone make sense out of this. I am mainly interested in
PCI
readings for obvious reasons. Any input would be appreciated thanks!
