I've had it periodically, worse case when a drive rejected the whole scratch
pool.  It was a combination of the drive, the SAN Data gateway, and microcode.
I took the drive offline, checked the volumes out, and checked them back in as
scratch.  Kept the drive offline until the CE said all was fine.
