Sorry for the repeat but I never received a good (if any) answer to my
dilemna......

We have an NT box with Oracle on it.

We purchased the TDP for Oracle for NT, V2.2.1. After installing it and
trying to run it, it fails since it expects to find RMAN.EXE.

After contacting the vendor of the package, we learned it is Oracle 7.2.3,
which doesn't use RMAN (the vendor rep we talked to didn't even know what
RMAN was).

I did some digging and read that the Oracle TDP V2.1.1 docs say it will
work with either RMAN or EBU.

My previous question was, can I just install 2.1.1 ontop of the 2.2.1
already installed ?

However, things have changed. I checked the server and it doesn't have EBU
on it, either.

Talked to the vendor and they don't know what EBU is, either (don't say
it............I know what you are thinking about this vendor..........I
agree....). Upon asking them how we were supposed to backup the Oracle
DB's, they said "get Veritas........". Of course, our response was that
we aren't going to go out and purchase another package !!!

So, not knowing anything about Oracle, how in the *&^%$# do I backup these
Oracle DB's that are always open/in use, with TSM ?
