Marc,
We use a post command here on HP-UX. You can define your pre and post
commands in dsm.sys like this:
* preschedulecmd "/opt/tivoli/tsm/client/ba/bin/lvbackup_precmd.sh >
/opt
/tivoli/tsm/client/ba/bin/lvbackup_precmd.log"
postschedulecmd "/opt/tivoli/tsm/client/ba/bin/lvbackup_postcmd.sh >
/op
t/tivoli/tsm/client/ba/bin/lvbackup_postcmd.log"
Works fine for us. Sorry about wrapped output, but each entry should be a
single line with no carriage returns. Also, in my example, the
preschedulecmd is commented out and ignored when jobs are run.
Hope that helps.

Subject: Unix Client PostSched and PreSched
Does anyone use the POST and PRE Schedule commands for a UNIX client ??
I have a new client that has an Oracle DB. An need to shut it down before
the backup and start it backup after.
It seems like it's only an option for NT clients. Or can you used it to
kick off a script ??
