I have a dought to be cleared .Please help!

What I understand is that nfs File system can not be backed up by default
and the same was seen in mails that dsm.sys or .opt need to be updated
accordingly.

Recently I converted AIX Server on NAS i.e NFS.I did clone the server first
and migrated restoration of applications all went fine.

When I restore on new cloned server restoration was ok on nfs mount.
i.e I did backup and restore  from old AIX local TO new AIX NFS mount.

I did backup of file Using GUI nfs mount it did work. How?
Any thing that I am missing?
I would appreciate any help in understanding this.
