There will not be a dsmsched.log created if you are not using TSM's
scheduling system. If there are errors in the backup then they will
show up in the dsmerror.log file. If you are interested in obtaining
the backup info from the ESP controlled backup, then redirect the output
of the dsmc process to a file somewhere on the NT system. This info can
also be pulled out of the TSM server activity log.

Subject: Backup Report Outside scheduler service
Currently we are using the scheduler service to control all backups of
our
NT nodes. We have been given a directive to start using our scheduling
package ESP to control the backups.
My question is, how do I get the same information that is contained in
the
DSMsched.log, to a new log? Our NT group will need this to determine if
all files are getting backed up, and when a backup does fail, what file
or
files caused the failure (ie.. file in use by another process).
Thanks for you assistance!
