Mark,

Yes, that goes for all of the TDPs.
(Anything that uses the TSM API.)

For Exchange, you could use the "COPY" type backup
and bind the COPY type backup objects to a different
management class with your required policies.

... or ...

Many customers create a second TSM NODENAME and
run a backup to that nodename every so often with
different policies to retain the backups for extended periods.
