Maybe /db doesn't automatically mount on system restart?

# lsfs /db
/dev/XXX ---- /db jfs 0123456789 -- no <- means no
automount

try mounting it

# mount /db
# ls /db
(check on the files ... are they there?)

then restart TSM.

Thanks for the replies so far.
I did come across some more things...
1 - running `dsmadmc` netted this:
    Enter your login: root
    ANS1235E Unknown system error
AND8023E Unable to establish session with server

ANS8002I Highest return code was -450
2 - running `lppchk -v` netted this:
lppchk: The following filesets need to be installed or corrected
to
bring the system to a consistent state:
bos.adt.include 4.2.1.12 (not installed; requisite fileset)
3 - running `adsm` and choosing ADSM Server options file:
    Error
syntax error on line 400 of the server options file:
    /usr/lpp/adsmserv/bin/dsmserv.opt
    Line Contents:
    <TAB>HTTPPort<TAB>1580
Note: I changed tabs to spaces and solved this problem.
4 - running `adsm` and choosing ADSM Server netted this:
    Begin Session
    ANR0900I Processing options file /usr/lpp/adsmserv/bin/dsmserv.opt
ANR0990I ADSM server restart-recovery in progress
    ANR9999D blkdisk.c(1712): Explanation (fstat error), errno=2(A
file
or directory in the path name does not exist).
ANR7807W Unable to get information for file /db/log01.dsm
ANR0259E Unable to read complete restart/checkpoint information
from
any database or recovery log
