I'm afraid you are SOL; one answer might be to "down" the interface -- or,
otherwise get creative with the connectivity (temporarily). We just use the
disablescheds option, and "disable ses" immediately upon startup -- there is
no startup command file (like inittab)... if a user just happens to get in,
you can cancel the session.

I can see how to keep any schedules from starting when I bring up the TSM
server, just add "disablescheds yes" at the top of my dsmserv.opt file. But
how do I prevent client initiated backups from starting before I can get in
and issue a disable sessions command? I don't see a "disableses yes" option.
I'm running 4.2 clients talking to a 4.2.1.7 server on AIX 4.3.3.
