Subject: breece hill q47 libraries and TSM issues of some kind

We are having trouble with several Breece Hill Q47 tape libraries. Each of
the libraries has four DLT8000 tape drives in them, and are connected to
Rs/6000 machines running TSM 4.1.

It is weird... it won't do an audit of the library. The audit fails with no
real message as to why. It does not see all the tapes in the library. I
have been talking to Tivoli support and have a Peak Storage/Breece Hill
person out at one of the sites now. He can't find anything wrong with the
library. All his tests come up good. As if there is nothing wrong with the
Q47 at all. But some of the tape drives come up as being off-line from the
TSM point of view.

But we do get messages in the error report about the library having problems
too.

I've tried deleting the AIX level device definations and letting cfgmgr find
the devices again. (library, scsi and tape drives all). The TSM config all
seems to be as it should.

Does anybody out there in ADSM-Land have any ideas about what this problem
could be?

Thanks,
