Hi

Did this a few month ago. We moved 6000 9840B cartridges between two
different PowderHorns. Easiest thing to do is to do a checkout from the
old library, and checkin from the new library. What you have to think
about is to checkout one category at a time(storagepool volumes, scratch
volumes), and when you do the checkin, specify status=private for your
volumes, and status=scratch for your scratch volumes.

After doing the checkout/checkin, we switched the ACS ID in Tivoli (from 0
to 1, from 1 to 0) ACSLS library settings.

You will also have to change the drive settings, so that the correct
drives are bound to the correct ACSLS library.

Haven't had any problems after switching between libraries.

Didn't take that much time...

Best Regards

We are running a TSM server attached to an iceberg using Gresham's EDT. I
would like to know the best way to move operations to a newer silo on the
same TSM server. The tape media for the current silo and the replacement
silo is to be the same format.

It would be nice if clients could be moved over the new silo incrementally
i.e., both libraries operational at the same.

Move data, checkout checkin, export import?

I've searched through the docs on this and have yet to find much help.

Advice and suggestions greatly appreciated.

TIA,
