Is there a way to select the first or second item from a large list, simply
using a select statement?

I'd like to extract the second file from the contents table.  Selecting all
files and manipulating the output is proving to be quite cumbersome.

In an Oracle environment you could add the "where rownum=2" clause.  Any ideas?
