If you do a

dsmc inc
  or a
dsmc inc /myfs

it'll update the /myfs backup dates/times.  If you do, for example,

dsmc inc /myfs/*

it won't update that information because this isn't backing up the whole
filespace.  Check the schedule you're running to do the backup. Also, check
your dsmsched.log on the client to see the correct schedule is running and
that there isn't something weird going on.  I'll bet your problem lies
somewhere within those two areas.
