What we do is:

1. Create a management class VERE=1, VERD=0 RETE=0 RETO=0 calling it, like
'ZERO'
2. Using an Include statement, assign the files to ZERO and back them up.
They get re-bound. After the next inventory expiration runs, you're left
with just 1 version.
3. Now Exclude those files. The next backup then get expired and we VERD=0
'em.

If you're going to delete the file(s) and just don't want to keep them
around for the VERD,RETO, then assign then to ZERO, backup, delete the
files. On the next backup they'll be expired and can you say bit-bucket??
