Hi
This depends on how you mean. If you use server-to-server virtual volumes
communication, one of the TSM servers can have actual connection to the
device, but the other server(which can be located anywhere from the actual
device), wont have any SCSI/FC or any other direct connection. It will
instead use TCP/IP communications to send it's data to the other TSM
server.
You can also use a file device class instead of a SCSI/FC/other connected
device.
If none of the above complies, how did use plan to connect the Tape drive?
