are you trying to install from a network drive? it may be the problem.
copy the installer to c: drive and check drive free space size and try to
install again

Hi all,
I have trouble to install TSM client 4.2 (4.2.1.20) on NT 4.0 SP6,SP6A.
During installation process, following error message appears and break the
installation '1603: General Windows Installer engine error. Increase Disk
space requirement in Setup.ini and try again.' This problem i registered on
10 NT Machines!
I tryed: modify space in setup.ini to zero or other value described in the
readme. The hint with runing instmsiw.exe with reboot etc., for me is not
possible because the machines runing in production .
