Attention: Customers utilizing a Host Bus Adapter (HBA) which allows (or
defaults) the maximum scatter gather list (MAXIMUMSGLIST) parameters to a value 
below hex 41 (decimal 65) in conjunction with Tivoli Storage Manager
(TSM) V4.1 or V4.2 lanfree data movement feature on Windows 2000 servers or 
storage agents with IBM Ultrium tape drives.

We have identified a problem in this environment when the configuration of
the HBA specifies too small of a value for the MAXIMUMSGLIST parameter.  As a 
result, the tape data written by TSM may not be recoverable.

Version 8.0.8.0 of the Qlogic HBA changed the default such that the setting
is too small for TSM.  If you are running this version or higher, you are
exposed.

Other adapters may also be exposed to  this problem.  For details
