If the situation is a short term one time thing, you can change your management 
class retention period for the affected management calss until the need has 
passed and then change it back.

Whilst I have a lot of management classes for ad-hoc archives arch_1M, arch_1y 
and so on, for any application that has an archive requirement I give them 
their own archive management class  that is named by function rather than 
retention period specifically so that it can be changed easily when 
requirements change
