The administrator of an AIX system here changed the ownership and
permissions of about 35,000 files at the recommendation of an
application vendor. After the application failed and the vendor
acknowledged giving incorrect advice, the administrator had me
perform a point in time restore to a time before all of the file
attribute changes. The administrator now claims that most of the
files still have the wrong attributes. When TSM overwrites an
existing file, is it supposed to set the ownership and permissions
to the values in effect when the file was backed up?

The AIX system is at level 4.3. The TSM client code is at 4.1.2.0.
