We had something similar but with Tivoli Enterprise Console v3.7. It took
some time to pinpoint the problem. Later Tivoli spent several months to
resolve this (and maybe other) problem. And they still do recommend to wait
for v3.7.1.
The description of our problem:
Installation of TEC fails on AIX 4.3.3ML8 but runs fine on 4.3.3ML6 and
below. Downgrading everything but bos.rte.* packages didn't help. And those
was impossible to downgrade even with force install.

Try to workaround it either by installing ML9 (4.3.3.75) or by force
install downgrade to 4.3.3.0 of all packages which allow this.

Hi *SM-ers!
We are running a 3.7.4.0 server on AIX 4.3.3 ML8. Since a few weeks I'm
experiencing a weird problem. Every now and then the server comes to a
complete stop. Administrators can logon to TSM, but when you issue a
command, you will never receive an answer. According to the AIX tools CPU
utilization and disk I/O are virtually 0. The only solution is a kill -9
and
a restart of TSM.
When you inspect the log after the restart you see a point where all
processing stops, without any errors. Administrative commands are logged,
but never processed.
I really haven't got a clue here... The only thing that was changed a few
weeks ago on this machine was the upgrade of AIX (4.3.3.0 to 4.3.3.08) and
the upgrade of the SSA and Fibre Channel Adapter microcode to the latest
level.
