We're using this successfully

Each app in the cluster is its own node, with a dsm.opt file on a filesystem
that fails over with the app, plus one node each for the underlying machines.
Domain statements in the dsm.opt files restrict each node to its own disk.
dsm.sys is the same on all nodes in the cluster. I also specify a different
http port and tcpport for each node in the cluster ( I don't know that its
necessary, but it works :) ). There's a non-critical veritas app defined for
each application group which starts a dsmcad and dsmsched process for each app.

Only gotcha is the need to update the TSM password on all machines in the
cluster. I do this by copying the dsm.opt to /tmp and running dsmc q sess to
set the password, then change password expiry to a long time.

I've got one two node Solaris 2.6 cluster with 10 apps working this way.

The parameter Servername in the dsm.sys file specifies which options to use.
You can specify this parameter in the dsm.opt file. I create two
directories with separate dsm.opt files and run the backups from separate
directories. The key is for this parameter in the dsm.opt file to point to
which parameters you want.

A better way might be to create a third nodename that backups up the data on
the whichever server is primary. Then when they fail over or whatever, it
doesn't have to be backed up again. I am not sure if this is a situation
with Veritas though.

        Subject: Backing up Shared Disks

My TSM server is AIX 4.3 and TSM 4.1.3.
My TSM client is Solaris 2.8 and TSM 3.7.1.2

I have a Veritas Cluster that has a shared disk to two servers. I
want TSM
to back up the disk wherever it is attached via the Virtual IP
Address. I
talked to TSM support and they said this wasn't supported but I
could try
having two stanzas in my dsm.sys file. The first would be for the
core
server and exclude the shared disks. The second stanza would be the
virtual
IP and would exclude the core system and backup the shared disk .
Naturally
they would have two different include/exclude files. I tried setting
this
up but when I run a backup it acts like it doesn't see the second
stanza.
Does anyone have this running? Any help would be greatly
appreciated. Here
        is my dsm.sys file:
