Hi All

When using the X windows interface to restore data on a solaris system
(version 2.8) We get very slow restore times approximately 100KB/S however
when using the command line interface (DSMC) we get restore speeds in excess
of 5MB/s. Can anyone tell us of there are any problems with the DSM X
windows client? or is it because the Solaris machine is connected to the PC
running X windows server across a 128Kb WAN link, if so WHY????
Environment:
Solaris version 2.8 64bit kernel mode
TSM client for Solaris ver 4.1.2 (64bit)
TSM server for WIndows NT version 3.7.4.3
X windows server on PC is Exceeds Hummingbird.
Solaris machine sits on Ethernet LAN 100MB (Full Duplex) with TSM server,
however X windows server is approximately 1000 miles away and is connected
via a 128Kb WAN link.

Kind Regards
Marc Layne
