Unless Tivoli Support still has some copies on CD you
can't officially get it. I wouldn't run TSM 3.1 code
because of all of the problems w/it if I were in your
place. I'd first migrate AIX from 4.1.5 to 4.3 and
TSM to 4.2.X and stabilize. Then I'd migrate to AIX
V5 later. By doing it in a phased approach you
eliminate the # of variables that could go wrong.
Usually I migrate one application @ a time but in this
case per Tivoli given your current OS Version and back
level code your compatability for 4.1 or 4.2 AIX is
Tivoli ADSM code only (per Tivoli Server &
Compatibility doc). Also remember that if you migrate
to 4.3.X you'll need to apply ptfs for TCPIP as well
or suddenly your performance will tank. I've done the
migration to 4.3 from 4.1 and 4.2 and it's not bad and
I didn't have any problems w/TSM afterward other than
the performance issue because I needed to apply the
TCPIP ptf.
Thanks,
Angela
