hsm-restore
2001-06-01 07:14:04
We try to restore an entire hsm- file system to a new server.
(because we want upgrade adsm-server and hsm-client from version 3.1 to tsm 4.1
after we have moved it to a new server)
Backup versions and migrated files reside on the same ADSM-Server and we use
the restore-command with
the restoremigstate option set to yes.
All files on the old filesystem are migrated or premigrated, no files are
resident. The hsm-Manual says that ADSM restores stub files for migrated and
premigrated files.
That is what we get:
Adsm restores ca.50000 (of 87000) files as stubfiles. Then adsm beginns to
mount volumes and restores ca. one of ten files from a backup-volume. This
takes a long time because we stored audiofiles in the file system.
Does anybody know what happens?
