Hello Gerardo,

1. No, because the exclude/exclude is processed from the bottom of
the list first until a match is found. This will exclude all your files.
Please
refer to your client manual for more details

2. I will try something like "include /* policy1" (below the exclude
/.../* of course)

3. The "include /t/tuxedo/bialog/.../* policy2" and "include
/t/tuxedo/procesos/.../* policy2"
should be below the "include /t/.../* policy1"

Hope this helps.

Subject: INCLUDE/EXCLUDE list processing...

Hi everyone,

Could you help me taking a look at this incl/excl file (for unix boxes) and
tell me wether the statemets are valid or not.

1. My intention is to back up only the filesystems marked as included in
this
list. Is it valid to put an "exclude /.../*" statement at the end of the
file
and then just include the filesystems I want to backup?

2. What happens with the "inlcude / policy1" statement when using the
"/exclude /.../*" in te same list? If this is not valid how can I tell TSM
to
backup the files under "/"?

3. Finally, can I specify a management class for "/t/.../*" and another one
for "/t/tuxedo/bialog/.../*"?. The intention is to backup the "/t/"
filesystem
(including subdirectories) with the rules specified in the "policy1"
management class but backup two specific "/t/" subdirectories
(/t/tuxedo/bialog/.../* and /t/tuxedo/procesos/.../*) within "/t/" with the
rules specified in "policy2" management class.

include / policy1
include /opt policy1
include /usr policy1
include /var policy1
exlcude /opt/tivoli/.../*

include /t/tuxedo/bialog/.../* policy2
include /t/tuxedo/procesos/.../* policy2
include /var/adm/.../* policy2
include /t/.../* policy1

include /tivoli/.../* policy2
include /resporacle/resp/gfi/fond/.../* policy2
include /resporacle/resp/gfi/full*/.../* policy2
include /resporacle/resp/gfi/normal/.../* policy2
include /resporacle/resp/gfi/auditor*/.../* policy2
include /resporacle/resp/gfi/shell/.../* policy2
include /resporacle/resp/gfi/hist/.../* policy2

exclude /.../*

Thanks in advance
