I have experience with McData (rather than Brocade) SAN equipment, but my
first guess would be a ZONING issue within the SAN software on the Brocade
switch. Our 2108's know nothing about what kind of equipment our SAN has.
In fact, our 2108's, our IBM Shark, and all of the individual Fibre Channel
clients are all completely unaware of the McData equipment in the middle.
All they see is the SCSI equipment at the other end (in their zone). Some
servers see disk (from the Shark), some see tape drives (from our LTO
library), and our TSM server sees both.

Thank you,

Subject: SAN Data Gateway

Hi

We have a SAN Data Gateway 2108-G07 installed.
An AIX server is connected through a brocade SAN switch to the SAN Data
Gateway. Connected to this Gateway are 4 LTO devices.
We seem to have installed the 2108-G07 ok , but nevertheless the LTO drives
can not be "seen" from the AIX server !!!!!!?
any ideas ??????

Does this brocade switch needs to be identified on the SAN Data Gateway (via
StorWatch - SAN Data Gateway Specialist software) and the AIX server as
well ???
any additional comments ??

thanks in advance
