For windows, there is an option called QUIET that you can put in dsm.opt. I
don't use it, so I'm not sure how much difference it makes. Description
below.

If you try it, be sure and STOP and restart the scheduler so it will pick up
the change to dsm.opt.

QUIET

The quiet option prevents messages from displaying on your screen during
processing.
For example, when you run the incremental, selective, or restore backupset
commands, information displays about each file that is backed up. Use the
quiet option
if you do not want TSM to display this information.
When you use the quiet option, some error information still displays on your
screen,
and messages are written to log files. If you do not specify quiet, the
default option,
verboseis used.
This option also affects the amount of information reported in the NT
eventlog and
schedule log.
Note: Quiet can also be defined on the server and overrides the client
setting.
