I use this in inittab:

autosrvr:2:once:/usr/tivoli/tsm/server/bin/rc.adsmserv 
>>/var/adsm/dsmserv.console 2>&1

It goes to a file rather than /dev/null...  Sometimes the server spits out
info that i'd want to see, especially at startup.  A tail -f on the
dsmserv.console file shows everything...
