Tivoli Storage Manager ... Facing new challenges

   Tivoli Storage Manager (TSM), currently at Version 4, is in many
   ways almost unrecognisable as being the same product which was
   first released as ADSM Version 1 in (about) 1994.  In 1999 the
   product ownership transferred from IBM SSD to Tivoli and since then
   there have been some significant changes made with the addition of
   major new features.  TSM plays a significant role in our
   organisations and managing the whole service can be a complex
   business.  For the newcomer it can be difficult to know where to
   start with TSM; for those who have been working with TSM for years
   it can be (more than) a challenge just to keep up.

Focus of the TSM 2001 Symposium ...

   The TSM 2001 Symposium is an event which is to be wholly dedicated
   to TSM .  It will provide delegates with an opportunity to gain
   additional technical insight into TSM with presentations from
   Tivoli Development and Marketing as well as from experienced users.
   The focus of the symposium will be on TSM System Management :  in
   gaining a much better understanding of the product and the many
   ways in which it can be used.  The seemingly impossible could
   become distinctly possible.

Organisation of the TSM Symposium ...

   This event has been initiated by and organised by Oxford University
   Computing Services and follows on from the previous Oxford
   University ADSM Symposium which was held in 1999.

   residential accommodation also at St Catherine's.
