We have a TSM server 3.7.4.0 on AIX 4.3.3.
Have new client - Oracle server RS6000 SP Winterhawk 64 Bit with AIX 4.3.3
(Maint Level 6) and Oracle 8.1.7.0.0 64 Bit with RMAN. Have installed TSM
client 4.1.0.0 on this machine. Preparing to setup RMAN to backup Databases.
Checking Tivoli Website to get TDP for Oracle and manual for this. TDP is ver
2.1.10. Manual indicates that this TDP works with TSM API 64 Bit version
3.7.2.0, which is included with the download of the 64 bit TDP. Looking at
README's, manual and other misc docs, I am slightly confused.
Questions:
1. Will the TDP 2.1.10 work with 64 Bit API 4.1.0.0? And the Client 4.1.0.0?
Or do I have to put 3.7.2 versions on the Oracle server?
2. Can 3.7.2 API work with 4.1.0.0 BA client?
3. Manual and README's indicate Oracle 8.1.5 as highest version. Does it
support 8.1.7.0.0?
Any other suggestions/comments/gotcha's, etc. from Tivoli guys or someone who
has this setup.
Thanks in advance,
