TSM Server AIX 4.3.3 TSM 4.1.2
Client is NT4 Terminal Server with SP5 ADSM Client 3.1.0.7

Versions Data Exists NOLIMIT
Versions Data Deleted NOLIMIT
Retain Extra Versions 21
Retain Only Version 31

Here is the situation:
Someone seems to have deleted the C:\wtsrv\Profiles\Default User folder on a
Terminal Server. Users seem to be having problems all of a sudden and I'm
wondering if, with this folder gone, it would it cause any problems. With
the backupcopygroup settings above it seems that this folder would have been
gone for over 31 days because when they went to do a restore of it there was
no active or inactive files within TSM. I believe the folder never changes
so there would be just one active copy and no inactive.

An NT related question: Probably pretty unusual but, has anyone copied this
particular folder from another Terminal Server? Did things work normally?

There is not a copy in the adsm.sys folder and no entries in the error log
or dsmschedlog saying files were in use and not backed up. Can anyone
enlighten me a little as to why this is not here, I thought it should be?

The bigger question is this: With this folder missing from the Terminal
Server, and TSM's database, it seems it was deleted quite some time ago. All
of a sudden they have problems, try to restore the files and lo and behold
TSM doesn't have it. What pisses me off is I constantly get insulations and
comments that blame me for this. I've tested this situation before, by
deleting a folder with active and inactive files in it and watching the
process of them disappearing from TSM. They seem to think with this folder
missing the problems would have reared their ugly head right away. But if I
ask, of course they don't really know what happens if that folder is gone
and can't test it either.

I don't know if anyone has run into a situation that TSM's retentions don't
work properly. So far my comments to them are that someone deleted the
folder over 31 days ago and it's gone from TSM. The system is working as
advertised.
