Solaris 2.6 Bare Metal Recovery Procedure with TSM 4.1.1 Client and SDS
This procedure details how to recover a failed Solaris 2.6 system. Once the
failed component has been fixed, the system is jumpstarted off the network. This
will install a DR system with the root file system on slice 6 and the swap
partition on slice 7.
The disk is then partitioned with the new root file system on slice 0 and the
new swap partition on slice 1.
TSM is then used to restore the root file system onto slice 0. When the restore
is complete the /etc/vfstab file and eeprom settings are updated to boot off
slice 0.
The temporary DR file systems can then be removed.
Detailed Steps
1. Jumpstart a recovery system. Verify that the jumpstart profile is correct
before starting the jumpstart procedure.
