Direct upgrade is possable.  The quickstart guide to 4.1 includes detailed
direction on how to accomplish this.

4.1 includes full support for 3590 drives/library.  This will not be
effected.

This is a sticky subject.  There is no migration path for Agent for Notes
data into the TDP for Domino software.  They are completely diffrent.  You
will need to make fresh backups of DOMINO under the TDP product, and keep a
copy of the agent around for point in time restores to notes 4.6 if needed.
Once the old notes data is no longer viable, then you can delete the notes
filespaces and run exclusivly with TPD from that point on.
