There was no assertion made that the document would teach anything about SQL:
there are plenty of web sites and text books for that, including
 http://www.uni-karlsruhe.de/~rz57/ADSM/3rd/handouts/raibeck/index.htm .
And if you take a more careful look at Andy's document (at least the original)
you will see that it is arranged in multiple ways, by column and then by
table.  And it's far more than the output of 'help select'.  Please give Andy
credit for putting a lot of work into providing us with a very handy reference.
