I need help in the use of backupsets.
The documentation says that after the days defined in the retention period
the backupset is deleted.
In my customer this does not happen.
We generate the backupset with retention=15 but the version generated in
October 1 is still there.
We have manually deleted the versions we do not want, but the volhistory
entries for the backupset do not get deleted and we can not reuse the tapes.
They appear in the inventory as private, but the system does not allow to
update them manually to scratch.
There in no way to remove the volhistory entries for bakupsets, this is
clearly stated in the reference manual:

"Use the DELETE BACKUPSET command to delete specified backup set volume
information in the volume history file. Do not use this DELETE VOLHISTORY
command to delete backup set volume information in the volume history file."

What can we do to reuse the tapes? Is this a bug and the entries should have
been deleted automatically?
We are using HP-UX 11.0 and TSM 3.7.3
